"A Sun Dance" is a work inspired by the idea of the dance and joy of light itself. It is truly director and creator Dikayl's first real study, using modern dance with its ability for openess and free form to investigate the possibilities for motion and visual imagery. Certain scenes were shot with a very open aperature to cradle or wrap the dancer with sunlight to intensify and focus their oneness. It was captured on the Bonneville salt flats on digital video using mostly natural lighting, relying heavily on manual camera possibilities, and some post production alterations.
"A Sun Dance" wurde von der Idee des Tanzes und der Freude am Licht inspiriert. Zeitgenössischer Tanz soll den Rahmen für Bewegung und visuelle Imagination bilden. Einige Szenen wurden so gefilmt, daß der Eindruck entsteht, die Tänzerin wiege sich im Sonnenlicht oder werde von ihm umhüllt. Es wurde fast ausschließlich mit natürlichem Licht und einer Handkamera gefilmt, mit einigen nachträglichen Änderungen beim Schnitt.
