Dyane Neiman Dance, Bielefeld/Köln

Neiman, a resident of Bielefeld, was born in Philadelphia, USA. She studied at Hunter College of New York University and completed her education with Martha Graham, Erick Hawkins and Merce Cunningham. This was followed by engagements with Lucinda Childs, David Gordon and Trisha Brown.

Dyane Neiman has been living in the Federal Republic of Germany since 1992. She is responsible for the dance program at the Music and Art School of the City of Bielefeld. Her work also includes lecture demonstrations at many schools.

The production "Pistols", to be seen at the Dance Fair NRW, premiered in 1995, in Bielefeld. This choreography won the State of NRW Art and Cultural Foundation sponsorship prize at the 1996 Dortmund Theater Festival.
