Katharine Sehnert, Köln
dance academies. In 1982 Katharine Sehnert founded the "Tanzraum"
(Dance Space) in Cologne, as a studio for modern dance and as
a workshop for dance movement. At the same time the space functions
as a theater and production workshop, as well. With her series
of events, "MultiArt - Guest Artists at Dance Space",
Katharine Sehnert creates a forum for exchange between artists
from different media, styles and publics. "Bluebird",
a production in which dance and film occupy equal status side-by-side,
will be presented at the Dance Fair NRW.

Katharine Sehnert, choreographer and educator resident in Cologne,
completed her education in modern dance and as a dance educator
with Mary Wigman, in Berlin. She founded her first group, "Motion",
in 1962, also in Berlin. Following her engagement as assistant
to Pina Bausch at the Folkwang Dance Studio, in Essen, Sehnert
took over choreographic work and teaching assignments on numerous
