Tat Ort – a lovestory

“Reflection on an object (objet trouvé) found at the roadside,” comments Cologne artist, Stephanie Thiersch, her installation Tat Ort which shows a white torn and strangely convoluted dress on the roadside onto which she projects a film whose images recount the fragments of a love story that keeps disappearing in the white of the images.

Education: Classical and Modern Dance in Wiesbaden and Montpellier. Humanities Study in Montpellier, Cologne and Mannheim. Postgraduate Study in Media Art at Kunsthochschule für Medien, Cologne

With her performance group Mouvoir the artist, who has been distinguished numerous times, is working on medial stage productions and performances. The focus of her work is the exploration of the interaction between dance, film/video, photography and site-specific work. At the moment, she is developing a new dance and media art project in cooperation with the Paris choreographer and dancer, Alexandra Naudet, which will premiere in March 2005 in Cologne.
