The video installation The Fall was conceptualized by the Berlin artist Peter Welz and realized in 2003 with Claudia de Serpa and Juan Kruz Diaz de Garaio Esnaola, two dancers of Sasha Weitz's company. The film sequences present the fall of two dancers photographed through a glass panes from below as well as from the side and from the front. For the presentation of the overlaid and collaged movement sequences Peter Welz received the Kaiserring Promotion Award" of the Museum of Contemporary Art Goslar in 2005.

Lives and works in Berlin
Education: Study of Art etc. at the National College of Art and Design in Dublin as well as at the Chelsea School of Art in London.
Since 1999, Peter Welz's work has been represented in renowned galleries and institutes all over the world. In 2004, he participated in the Museum of Modern Art, Dublin 'artist in residence' where he developed the installation whenever on on on nohow on/airdrawing. After the work was shown at tanzmedial for the first time, it was subsequently presented in the form of a space-taking installation at Galerie Markus Richter, Berlin and in the Frankfurt Opera House in 2004. In 2005, a work-over and stage version is scheduled with the Forsythe Company. Besides other interesting exhibition projects Peter Welz has been honoured with the Kaisering Promotion Award of the Museum of Modern Art, Goslar/Harz.
